on Tuesday and DESCRIPTION:
Our preschool was established in 1973 through a federal grant. It is teaching lab in which high school students work in the Nursery School alongside a certified teacher. In the fall of 1998, we expanded to include a Play Group for three-year-olds. This group meets twice a week on Tuesday and Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
PHILOSOPHY:
The Wachusett Regional High School Play Group has two purposes:
The structure of the program is planned to meet the needs of both the Nursery and Play Group programs when possible, with the needs of the preschoolers coming first in areas where conflicts in the needs of the two groups arise.
STAFF:
The Play Group teacher will direct and supervise the preschool. She will work directly with the children and supervise activities of the student interns/aides. She will model appropriate teaching methods for the students enrolled in the Early Childhood Education Program. High school students enrolled in the program will act as student interns/aides in the preschool. They will assist the teacher in planning and carrying out activities geared to the needs and ability levels of the children enrolled in the program. The availability of these students in the classroom makes it possible to have many extra varied and exciting activities available to the child each day.
ENROLLMENT:
Enrollment is open to age appropriate children of up to 15 preschoolers. Play Group students have first consideration for the Nursery program the following school year.
**To apply, Because of COVID- 19- We are only accepting applications electronically.

TUITION:
The total tuition for the year is $500.00. A $50.00 non-refundable deposit is required when your child is accepted into the program. The balance of $450.00 is due when Play Group begins in September.
